Here at Body Balance we offer you an array of services that help you live a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Therapeutic massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm and stress. It has a number of effects on the body by action directly on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems (blood and lymphatic). Massage can increase metabolism, manage pain and at the same time decrease healing time. Enhancing the movement of blood and lymph fluids in the body increases oxygen and nutrients to the cells while assisting the removal of harmful bi-products of metabolism, exercise and inflammation; thereby muscle repair is enhanced.
Body Balance has been one of Edmonton’s leaders in therapeutic massage for over a decade. Our team of board-registered professionals offers all types of massage therapies including: athletic, deep tissue, myofacial, acupressure, relaxation and alternative massage.
The most senior of our therapists, Sandra Strangman, also offers private massage training. Based on the participation of two persons per session, massage technique training sessions are 1 - 1.5 hours in duration. Beyond the benefits for specific conditions or diseases, some people enjoy massage because it often involves caring, comfort, a sense of empowerment and creating deep connections with their massage therapist.
Is no longer available only through luxury spas and upscale health clubs but has entered the realm of businesses, clinics, hospitals and even airports.
